nGauge AFM Tips

nGauge chips are the entire AFM

A conventional AFM tip is a made up of a probe tip on a cantilever.

nGauge AFM chips are different from normal AFM tips, because an nGauge AFM chip contains all the components of a normal AFM (scanners, sensors and the tip)!

More resilient

nGauge AFM tips are made of a very hard material, aluminum oxide, so they wear out much more slowly than regular AFM tips.

Easier to handle

All AFM tips are extremely fragile. In a conventional AFM, handling the tip can be challenging because they are so small.

nGauge AFM tips are mounted onto a large PCB that are much easier to handle and can even be picked up by hand. This means that they are much less likely to be dropped and break.
